At Ease Tea Blend: A Gentle Herbal Tea for Stress & Nervous System Support

Picture of a woman relaxing with a cup of At Ease Herbal Tea Blend Recipe nervous system calming and supportive blend to unwind and relax.

At Ease Tea Blend

Life can be beautiful, meaningful, and deeply rewarding.

It can also be stressful and overwhelming.

There are seasons when we find ourselves carrying more than usual—busy schedules, difficult decisions, life transitions, caregiving responsibilities, uncertainty, grief, or simply the accumulated stress of everyday life.

During these times, creating small moments of support can make a meaningful difference.

This At Ease Tea Blend was created to offer a gentle invitation to slow down, soften tension, and reconnect with a sense of steadiness.

While no cup of tea can solve life’s challenges, simple rituals can help remind us to pause, breathe, and care for ourselves along the way.

Why I Created This Blend

Not every stressful season requires a sleep tea.

Sometimes what we need most is support during the day—a moment of calm between responsibilities, a quiet pause during a busy afternoon, or a gentle way to unwind after carrying emotional tension.

This blend combines herbs traditionally used to support relaxation, emotional well-being, and nervous system nourishment while offering a comforting and enjoyable cup of tea.

How This Blend Supports Nervous System and Emotional Wellness

At Ease was created for the moments when life feels like a lot.

Not necessarily when we need sleep.

Not necessarily when something is wrong.

But when the body and mind are asking for a little more steadiness, softness, and support.

This blend combines herbs traditionally used to support relaxation, emotional well-being, and nervous system nourishment.

Nervous System Nourishment Layer

These herbs have traditionally been used during times of stress, depletion, and emotional overwhelm.

  • Milky Oat Tops
  • Lemon Balm
  • Skullcap
  • Catnip

Together, they help create a blend that feels grounding and supportive for the nervous system.

Stress Resilience Layer

These herbs are often associated with steadiness, resilience, and support during stressful seasons.

  • Tulsi
  • Linden Flowers
  • Hawthorn Berries

They help give the blend a deeper restorative quality without making it feel like a sleep tea.

Emotional Comfort Layer

These herbs bring softness, comfort, and a heart-centered quality to the blend.

  • Rose Petals
  • Wild Violet
  • Hawthorn Berries
  • Linden Flowers

They help make At Ease feel especially aligned with emotional wellness and self-compassion.

Digestive and Flavor Support Layer

Stress and digestion are often closely connected, so this blend also includes herbs traditionally used to support digestive ease and an enjoyable flavor.

  • Lemon Balm
  • Lemon Verbena
  • Catnip
  • Orange Peel

These herbs add brightness, gentle citrus notes, and digestive support while helping the blend feel pleasant and drinkable.

Key Herbs and Their Traditional Uses

Linden Flowers

Linden has a long history of traditional use for relaxation and emotional comfort. Herbalists have often turned to linden during times of stress, tension, and restlessness because of its gentle and supportive nature.

Tulsi (Holy Basil)

Tulsi is considered an adaptogenic herb in many traditional herbal systems.

It has historically been used to support resilience during periods of physical and emotional stress and is often valued for its ability to help promote balance rather than sedation.

Modern research continues to explore tulsi’s potential role in supporting stress management and overall well-being.

Wild Lettuce

Wild lettuce has a long history of traditional use for relaxation and comfort.

It is often included in herbal blends intended to encourage calm and ease.

Wild Violet

Wild violet has traditionally been used to support emotional well-being and is often associated with gentleness, comfort, and nourishment.

Its mild flavor helps create a balanced blend while adding a beautiful connection to traditional herbal practices.

Lemon Balm

Lemon balm has long been used to support calm, relaxation, and digestive comfort.

Research suggests it may help support mood and cognitive performance during times of stress while contributing a bright, uplifting flavor.

Lemon Verbena

Lemon verbena provides a refreshing citrus note while traditionally being used to support relaxation and digestive wellness.

Milky Oat Tops

Milky oat tops are often considered one of the classic herbs for nourishing the nervous system.

Traditional herbalists have frequently used them during times of stress, exhaustion, and burnout when the body and mind need gentle support.

Rose Petals

Rose has traditionally been used to support emotional balance and heart-centered wellness.

In tea blends, rose adds both beauty and a soft floral sweetness.

Hawthorn Berries

Hawthorn has a long history of traditional use for supporting cardiovascular wellness and emotional well-being.

Many herbal traditions associate hawthorn with resilience, strength, and support during times of emotional strain.

Skullcap

Skullcap is traditionally used to support relaxation and ease nervous tension.

It is often included in herbal blends intended to promote calm and relaxation.

Catnip

While often associated with cats, catnip has a long history of traditional use in human herbalism.

It has traditionally been used to support relaxation and digestive comfort.

Orange Peel

Orange peel contributes warmth, brightness, and a gentle citrus aroma while traditionally being used to support digestion and emotional well-being.

Flavor Profile

At Ease is comforting, slightly floral, and gently citrusy with subtle earthy undertones.

Linden, rose, and violet contribute softness and floral complexity, while lemon balm, lemon verbena, and orange peel provide a bright uplifting finish.

The result is a balanced tea that feels both grounding and refreshing.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Linden Flowers
  • 1/4 cup Tulsi
  • 1/4 cup Wild Lettuce
  • 1/4 cup Wild Violet
  • 1/4 cup Lemon Balm
  • 1/4 cup Lemon Verbena
  • 1/4 cup Milky Oat Tops
  • 1/4 cup Rose Petals
  • 1/4 cup Hawthorn Berries
  • 1/8 cup Skullcap
  • 1/8 cup Catnip
  • 1/8 cup Orange Peel

Equipment

  • 1 Tea Kettle or Small Saucepan or Cast Iron Pot
  • 1 Tea Pot or French Press
  • 1 Fine Mesh Tea Strainer
  • 1 Glass jars or airtight containers for storage
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 favorite ceramic mug for slow evenings and cozy rituals

Method

  1. Mix herbs thoroughly in a large bowl until evenly combined.
  2. Because loose herbs can become dusty during blending, it is recommended to wear a dust mask while mixing larger batches.
  3. Store the finished blend in an airtight glass container away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture to preserve freshness, aroma, and potency.
  4. Single Cup Preparation
  5. Add 1–2 teaspoons of Sleep Tight Tea to 8–10 oz hot water.
  6. Teapot or Evening Batch
  7. Use approximately 1 tablespoon of tea per 2 cups of water.
  8. This blend can be prepared in a tea kettle, teapot, or small saucepan, though a cast iron pot creates an especially rich and comforting nighttime infusion.
  9. Pour water just below boiling over the herbs and cover while steeping to help preserve the delicate calming aromatics from lavender, chamomile, and lemon balm.
  10. Allow tea to steep for 15–20 minutes for deeper herbal extraction and a more relaxing evening cup.
  11. Strain and enjoy warm.
