Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookies (Soft, Chewy, Balanced)

These gluten-free chocolate chip cookies are perfect if you’re looking for a soft, chewy cookie that doesn’t feel like a compromise. Made with more intentional ingredients, these cookies have a soft center with lightly crisp edges—bringing you a more balanced take on a classic treat that still delivers on texture and flavor.

There’s something about a warm chocolate chip cookie that just feels comforting. It’s familiar, simple, and deeply satisfying in a way that doesn’t need to be overcomplicated.

This version was created to bring that same soft, nostalgic experience—but in a way that feels a little more supportive and aligned with how you want to nourish your body.

After testing and refining this recipe, the goal was simple: create a gluten-free cookie that feels just as satisfying as a traditional one—without the dryness or overly delicate texture that can sometimes come with gluten-free baking.

Made with a blend of gluten-free flours, natural sweeteners, and thoughtfully chosen ingredients, these cookies strike a balance between indulgent and nourishing. They’re lightly sweet, rich in flavor, with pockets of melted chocolate and a warm, comforting flavor that feels just as satisfying as a traditional cookie.

They’re simple, approachable, and easy to make—something you can come back to whenever you want a cozy, familiar treat that fits into your everyday life.

If you’re looking for a fully dairy-free option, you can also try the gluten-free dairy-free version, which has a softer, more tender texture.

  • Soft centers with lightly crisp edges
  • A more classic cookie texture (not cakey, dry, or crumbly)
  • Lightly sweet, with a deeper, more balanced sweetness from maple syrup and coconut sugar.
  • Made with gluten-free, more nourishing ingredients
  • Holds moisture better than most gluten-free cookies
  • Simple, approachable, and easy to make

🌿 Ingredient Highlights

Oat + Almond Flour Blend
Creates a soft, tender texture while adding fiber and healthy fats.

Maple Syrup + Coconut Sugar
Provide a more balanced sweetness while helping create better texture and chew.

Banana + Yogurt (Used in Moderation)
Add moisture and subtle sweetness while supporting a softer texture without making the cookies overly cake-like.

Butter
Brings richness, flavor, and helps create a more classic cookie crumb.

Cornstarch
Helps create a softer, more tender texture while preventing the cookies from becoming too dense or gummy.

Ground Flax
Adds fiber and healthy fats while helping bind the cookies and support moisture.

A More Intentional Indulgence

These cookies are still a treat—but one that feels more balanced, more intentional, and easier to enjoy without overthinking it.

Compared to traditional cookies, they:

  • Use more balanced, natural sweeteners
  • Include more nutrient-dense ingredients
  • Feel satisfying without being overly heavy

A Note on Texture

Because these cookies are made with gluten-free flours and more nourishing ingredients, the texture is slightly different from traditional cookies—but still soft, tender, and satisfying.

This version has been carefully balanced to avoid the dryness or overly cake-like texture that can sometimes happen with gluten-free baking, creating a cookie that feels both comforting and familiar.

  • Slightly underbake for soft centers
  • Let cookies finish setting on the pan
